CenterPoint Energy's thermostat rebate helps your customers save up to $50 on one of the easiest ways to save energy and money.

For every one-degree reduction in the thermostat setting, customers can save 3 to 5 percent on heating bills. A thermostat provides easier, greater temperature control.

For replacement of existing equipment

For new construction

Thermostat requirements:

  • Can be installed by a dealer with or without a heating system installation
  • Or can be purchased and installed by a customer
  • Must be programmable and currently manufactured: examples of eligible thermostats
  • Limit one thermostat rebate per service address

Cash for dealers: $7.50 for online submissions and $3.50 for paper submissions of smart thermostat rebates processed listing your company as the dealer. There is no dealer incentive for programmable thermostats.

How the Program Works

  1.  Work with your customers to determine the best thermostat for their home that qualifies for a rebate. Install the thermostat between Jan. 1 - Dec. 31 and submit the rebate application by Dec. 31.

  2. Complete an online rebate application for your customers and builders. First, please review the Terms & Conditions, then access the online rebate application.

    3. Submit Online Rebate​​​​
    Customers will receive their rebate faster if you submit the rebate through the dealer-only rebate processing system. You may order paper rebate forms here.
  3. Note: You will need to attach an electronic copy of the date sales invoice to your online application.
  4. Customers and builders need to allow 12 weeks for rebate processing from the time that CenterPoint Energy received the completed rebate application.

Note: This rebate offer is only available to Minnesota residential homes served with natural gas from CenterPoint Energy. Rebates will be processed in the order that they were received and are paid on a first-come, first-served basis.​​
